Alumnus Dong Jun Wins Yu Dafu Prize for Fiction

On December 7, Listen to Hong Sushou Playing Guqin, a short story written by ECNU alumnus Dong Jun, won the 2nd Yu Dafu Prize for Fiction. The novel gives readers aesthetic feeling and spiritual guidance with a typical Yu Dafu style of  melancholy tone resulting from the contrast between the secular and the refined." 

Dong Jun, whose real name is Zheng Xiaoquan, was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province in the year of 1974. He once pursued his studies in the major of literature criticism and media communication in ECNU. He, now vice president of Wenzhou Writers Association, works primarily on fiction writing as well as creation of poems and essays. He is the author of Tree Nest, a famous full-length novel. His works has been published in many literary magazines such as People's Literature, Master, Harvest, October, etc.

 The Yu Dafu Prize for Fiction is named after Yu Dafu, the founder of Chinese modern romantic literature. The prize awarded twice a year aims at encouraging creation of novels which are romantic and have distinctive features.
