On September 18th, Exequiel R. Gonzalez, the president of University of Santo Tomás, San Diego, and Hernan Swart, the vice-president of University of Santo Tomás visited ICI accompanied with Associate Professer Yang Xiangdong, the vice-director of College of Education Science and full-time researcher in ICI. The visit was also accompanied by Prof. Huang Zhicheng, the director of Inclusive Education Research Center of ECNU, and Qiu Yue of International Exchange Office.

The main purpose of the two presidents is to learn more about related departments in our university and to discuss cooperation possibility of more related departments in the two universities. Besides our institute, the two presidents have visited Institute of Estuary Coastal Research and Higher Education Research Institute.

University of Santo Tomás was founded in 1988. At present, the university has opened 14 campuses all around Chile. The president of University of Santo Tomás has led a delegation and visited our university in October, 2010 and signed a cooperation agreement officially in December. University of Santo Tomás became our first sister university in South America.
